The NCV70514 is a microstepping motor driver for bipolar stepper motors. The chip is connected with an external microprocessor through IO pins and SPI interface. The NCV70514 contains a current transition table to take the next microstep depending on the clock signal on the NXT input pin and the state of the DIR (direction) register or input pin. The chip provides error messages if it detects a stall, electronic error, undervoltage, or elevated junction temperature. It uses a proprietary PWM algorithm for reliable current control. The NCV70514 is fully automotive voltage compliant and ideal for general purpose stepper motor applications in automotive, industrial, medical and marine environments. Due to its technology, this device is particularly suitable for applications using fluctuating battery power.
