The LCX38 contains four 2-input open-drain NAND gates. Inputs are tolerant to 7 V to support interfacing from 5 V systems to 3 V systems. The 74LCX38 uses an advanced CMOS process to achieve high-speed operation while maintaining the low power consumption of CMOS.

The MC74VHC1G32 is an advanced high-speed CMOS 2-input OR gate fabricated in a silicon-gate CMOS process. This internal circuit consists of multiple stages including a buffer output to provide high noise immunity and stable output. The MC74VHC1G32 input structure provides protection when voltages up to 5.5 V are applied regardless of the supply voltage. So MC74VHC1G32 is used to interface 5 V circuit to 3 V circuit.
