The MC12093 is a single-mode prescaler designed for low power division of 1.1 GHz high frequency input signals. Utilizes MOSAIC V(tm) technology to achieve a low power consumption of 6.75 mW at a minimum supply voltage of 2.7 V. On-chip output termination provides output current to drive a 2.0 pF (typ) high-impedance load. If an additional driver is required for the prescaler output, an external resistor can be added in parallel from the OUT pin to GND to increase the output power. Care must be taken that the current through the output does not exceed the maximum permissible value. Divide ratio control inputs SW1 and SW2 select the desired divide ratio of 2, 4 or 8. Standby mode is implemented to reduce the current consumption to 50 uA when the standby pin SB toggles low to disable the prescaler.
