The CAV24C08 is an EEPROM serial 8-Kb I2C - Automotive Grade device internally organized as 64 pages of 16 bytes each. The device supports the Standard (100 kHz) protocol as well as the Fast (400 kHz) I2C protocol. Data is written by providing a start address, then loading 1 to 16 contiguous bytes into the page write cache, and then writing all the data to non-volatile memory in an internal write cycle. The way to read data is: provide the start address, then move out the data in order, and automatically increment the internal address count at the same time. External address pins enable addressing of up to two CAV24C08 devices on the same bus.

The CAT25080 is an EEPROM serial 8-Kb SPI device internally organized as 1024x8 bits. It has a 32-byte page write cache and supports the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol. The device is enabled through a chip select (CS) input. Additionally, the required bus signals are the clock input (SCK), data input (SI) and data output (SO) lines. The hold input can be used to suspend any serial communication with the CAT25080 device. These devices feature software and hardware write protection, including partial and full array protection.
