The VHCT244A is an advanced high-speed CMOS octal bus transceiver fabricated on a silicon-gate CMOS process. It achieves high-speed operation similar to an equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining CMOS low power consumption. The VHCT244A is a non-inverting 3-state buffer with two active low output enables. The device can be used as a 3-state memory address driver, clock driver, and bus-oriented transmitter/receiver. Protection circuitry ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input and output (Note 1) pins regardless of the supply voltage. These circuits prevent device damage due to mismatched supply and input/output voltages. This device can be used to interface 5V systems with 3V systems and both power systems, such as battery backup.
