The MM74HC74A is fabricated on an advanced CMOS process and operates at speeds comparable to LS-TTL parts. It has high noise immunity and low power consumption of a standard CMOS integrated circuit and can drive 10 LS-TTL loads. This flip-flop has independent data, preset, clear and clock inputs, and Q and Q# outputs. During the forward transition of the clock pulse, the logic level at the data input is transferred to the output. The preset and clear inputs are clock independent and are accomplished with a low on the appropriate input. The 74HC logic family is functionally and pin-out compatible with the standard 74LS logic family. All inputs are protected from electrostatic discharge damage by clamping internal diodes to VCC and ground.

The high-performance silicon-gate CMOS MC74HCT273A can be used as a level shifter to interface TTL or NMOS outputs to high-speed CMOS inputs. HCT273A has the same pinout as LS273. The device consists of eight D-type flip-flops with common clock and reset inputs. Each flip-flop is loaded on a low-to-high transition of the clock input. Reset is asynchronous and active low.
