The 74VCX16373 is an advanced performance non-inverting 16-bit transparent latch. The latch is suitable for ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-power operation in 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V systems. VCX16373 is controlled by bytes, each byte has the same function but is independent. Each byte has separate output enable and latch enable inputs. These control pins can be tied together for full 16-bit operation. When operating at 2.5 V (or 1.8 V), the part is tolerant to the voltages its inputs or outputs might encounter when connected to a 3.3 V bus. It ensures a tolerant overvoltage of 3.6 V. The 74VCX16373 contains 16 D-type latches with 3-state 3.6-V tolerant outputs. Data on the Dn input goes into the latch when the Latch Enable (LEn) input is high. In this case, the latch is transparent (the latch output changes state every time its D input changes). When LE is low, the latch stores information present at the D input during the setup time before LE transitions from high to low. The 3-state output is controlled by the Output Enable (OEn) bar input. When OEbar is low, the output is enabled. When OEbar is high, the standard output is in a high-impedance state, but this does not interfere with new data coming into the latch.
