The NCV7422 is a dual-channel PHY device utilizing the Local Area Internet (LIN) protocol. It supports the connection of two independent LIN physical buses and LIN protocol controllers. This device complies with ISO 17987-4 (LIN 2.x Protocol Specification Package) and SAE J2602 standards. The NCV7422 LIN device is part of the family of In-Vehicle Networking (IVN) transceivers. The LIN bus is suitable for sending low-speed data from control devices such as door locks, mirrors, car seats and sunroofs at the lowest possible cost. The bus is adapted to eliminate as much wiring as possible, implementing it with one wire in each node. Each node has a slave MCU state machine that recognizes and translates instructions specific to that function. The main advantage of the LIN bus is that all these functions are not time-critical functions, which are usually related to passenger comfort.
